My newest addition.

Got screwed over big time on from the seller, paid $4000 ended up having to limp the car home after 45mins into the trip, being i was closer to my house i didnt go back and get my money back. BIG Mistake on my part. Needs roughly $2000 worth of parts to get it running, except that i have lots of parts from my 2G build that i can use on here

yeah if the car was running 100% the way it sat then $4000 is reasonable. But with the way the car sits at my house in the driveway. no way thats why i was so upset. theres a massive thread on vadriven.com about the 1G but i've come to see he isn't going to help or do shit anyways so i'm just going to bite the $2k loss and go on with the plans.

still need to get:
-1150cc injectors
-1G Dsmlink
-3" Vband flange so i can get that welded onto my downpipe
-JMFab adapter for my SMIM which is flanged for 75mm CHM mustang Throttle body
-1G FMIC thats large and functional enough not to have to upgrade again
-new exhaust system or at least a muffler (may hack my magnaflow off and use that)
-1G maf translator
-1G eprom ecu (haven't even checked yet to see if i have one)

After today i need to swap my slicks out for the new drag radials on the volk te37s also.

Most of it is the stuff i have up for sale wont work on the 1G. when those parts sell they will be turned right back into the 1G though somehow. IPT trans and converter are going to be a pain to sell i'm sure, but once they are sold I will be investing in a stg3 shep trans.

But yeah pretty much. I'm not allow per my stepdad to work on a car when he is at home, and he wants 1 of the cars gone. 1G is more practical cause its mostly together. 2G still will need a few thousand dollars to get it driveable, seats, harness stuff like that.

I understand! My 2g came with more problems than expected... many of which we just found last weekend... like the cracks in the turbo, got the new manifold and gaskets on (the old gaskets were completely worn through on the ends... but one of the bolts in the head broke... so i still have an exhaust leak... the oil line going to the turbo is leaking... ect... so it still smokes constantly. Don't we just love DSMs!

dual intank 255HP fuel pump assmebly is here at the house -8an fitting on top, waiting to hear back from hi rev performance about -8an braided fuel line 15ft, and -6an braided fuel line 12ft (returnline) also. Along with MR front/rear strut bars in black.

Going to try and get the talon over to a friends house and get it back up and running.

The talon was driven last night for a while. MBC was turned all the way down, running off wastegate spring boost was set at 12psi. Found out how crappy the suspension is on the talon hitting 12psi 1st, 2nd, 3rd, mid way through 4th gear. Dsmlink was monitored by the tuning along with the innovative LM1. All i was doing was driving.
We took the car out easy just putting around for about 10mins (had front driverside wheel come loose after torqueing the studs) Went back to the house to tighten them back up, Car hit about 223 degrees while the car idled at 2k due to faulty throttle cable(?) We are replacing the cruise control cable with a 1G noncruise control cable which should fix the issue there. Took the car back out thats when i got to lay into the car as stated previously. 2nd pull turned out to be the end of the ride lol. Oil filter housing sprung an oil leak, issue was fixed guess it ended up being the fitting for the aftermarket oil pressure gauge. Road had a real thin line, but big enough to see while driving for about 2miles if that on the way back to the house straight into the garage.
Things that are going to hurt this setup on the 1G talon:
*FMIC is way to small
*stock camshafts from cyclone motor
*stock intake manifold from cyclone motor
*1 255HP fuel pump
*current intake setup is stuck in place, lol, using 2g mas and FP 4" intake pipe.
Only took 2 photos before the car was started but here's the latest photos i have, more to come later this week! (Car has not been washed since i picked it up a few months ago, when it is running it will be fully detailed for sure, and photos aren't the greatest sorry!!!)

unfortunately the volks/MT drag radials wont be going back on anytime soon, until i redo the suspension. The tires hit the struts perch in the front...

soon enough its running just need to get the throttle issue fixed to get 100% WOT

Get a JMF SMIM, BC272s or 280s, and a bigger eBay FMIC and call it a day! As for the suspension...you could look into full coilovers. I have the K-Sports on my car and so far I love em. The D2s, Megans, and K-Sports are all pretty much the same. I think they would clear your tires with no problem, but I cant say that for sure. If you ever get up this way then bring one of your wheels and we can find out :D If you have the cash to throw at it you could look into some good Teins or JICs. If you are the shit then you could order Mueller-spec JICs and I will make a road trip to come down to ride in your car.

Car is running still! had to replace some MIA carrier bearing bolts, which cause the axle to keep popin out of the trans making a horrible noise and yeah could been bad.

Still got some minor things i need to square away though.

cams, smim, fmic i'm hoping to have installed by the end of the month. Been gettin lazy with track season ending and havent felt the need to drive 30mins to go pick them up from my engine builder lol

Dee, his car will easily accomplish these numbers. His main support is a lovely FP88HTA(drool). It would shit out 500 on pump all day and significantly MUCH more on race fuel.

I personally am not tuning it safc is as far as i can go at this point in time lol.

You will meet your goal. Have fun with it. As for the Link HP estimations...well they are somewhat wrong. Mine tells me that I am only pushing 320HP @ 25psi with my T61. I am sure that there is a way to recalibrate it. I will research this soon.

Keep it 2.0 too!

Well I hope you do it. I know Denny's log, it stated 358 at 21(at only 16* too, lol) on a shitty china 50 trim. I would say with that bigass turbo you should be able to achieve your goal at around 26 or so with no problem.

yeah thinking 26-28psi should reach the 500mark. Thats the 1st goal this thing needs to hit 604, as a friend of mine who actually lends a hand hit and holds 603 on a stock block.

Stick with the 2.0 man. I have talked to a lot of guys that went with 2.3s and ya they make more torque and spool faster but you are shifting at 7200rpm where with a built 2.0 you can scream that bitch up past 9000rpms which helps big time at the track being able to hold 4th gear out to cross the traps. What turbo is that 35r? I swear I remember you saying you bought an HTA 35r but im not sure. I also thought you had a 2G eclipse that you were completely building? Ugh im confused lol.

Yeah your right, just gotta to upgrade a few things here and there and get some basic maint. done on the car.

If i remember correctly they were 153 151 154 156 (all over 150 i do know that much)

Stick with the 2.0 man. I'll be running the 2.3l once the stock 2.0 takes a shit. Then building something else once the 2.0l pops, this way i also have a back up motor lol. The turbo is a FPHTA88. And i still have the 2G its just a shell, and with the wiring mess under the hood from when the motor was pulled and it being an automatic i changed my mind on what to build when i found the 1G i have now.

Eh it feels very strong, still doesnt feel 'fast'. lol so to speak. For what ever reason it doesnt feel like a 400hp car. Was hoping to dyno today but not sure if thats going to happen, i got my hands on a few gallons of q16 for a gas dyno also along with the pump gas but funds are really tight once again so not sure if im going to make the attempt or not.


I really need some free dyno time like i use to be able to have ..when i didnt have a car worth putting on lol.

Jeremy, it looks to be coming along nicely. It's funny how similar our setups are. I am watching your threads closely though to see how you like your turbo and what kind of pump numbers you get. I am currently running a T61 but the 88HTA is getting great reviews.

I need to do an oil change, fix the leak on my return line at the oil pan (so it doesnt spray the dyno rollers), rewire the fuel pump and we shall see what it can do.

I swear...every DSM leaks there! I finally got mine to stop but d-a-m-n.

Yeah well the asshat that had the car before me or whoever worked on it for some reason slightly dented the pan putting the return line on the last time so it doesn't properly seal.

I figured i would do an oil change, drain as much as i can period out of the pan and such, take the return line off completely clean up around the area, use some hondabond along with the new gasket and pray it works just fine lol. Worse case is i go to the dyno wrap a rag around the fitting ziptie the hell out of it, and then i wont have to worry about dripping or spraying on the rollers lol.

Well went to VIP garage today for the final area DSM meet of the year, driving back home heard a weird noise pulled over...limp it back to justins (turbo1307) house.
RIP FPHTA88 turbo :(

yeah exactly what happen that radiator cap looking piece goes inside the middle of the filter and has 3 or 4 pieces of metal the little sliver piece in the photo that attach to it to hold it in place. theres a few slivers missing and a fucked up turbo at the cost of a $20filter.

Well only issue with that is they probably have some kind of stipulation as where you can not use that filter on a forced induction system, lol.

Thats what i has said i wanted to do and a bunch of friends of mine dsmers said it wasn't a good idea to run a screen, But whatever. If the screen had been on the turbo theres a chance that huge piece of the filter would have gone through that also lol.

Lowes is the place! 4" boost leak tester FTW!

But i am currently looking for :

turbo, downpipe

(since my hta88 setup was vband)

I have an ebay o2 housing w/ a dump turbo would have to be internally gated also.

I'm not 100% as i havent taken the car apart yet to make sure there are someplace they have no need to be lol, but...


filter->intake pipe -> turbo ->intercooler -> gm maf ->intake manifold ->head would be my guess.

lol yeah, im not as much upset now that it happened as i didnt want to use that filter but it was the better choice than nothing at all or screen. Turbo sucks in to much air lol.

The walbro 255 that in the car now is going to stay there, I have a dual intank fuel assembly setup here at the house i'd sell for $250shipped :) Its got dual 255HP pumps in it. Came out of a '91 awd talon and i had planned to use it in my car but obviously thats not happening now.
