Where: Quaker City Raceway. Salem, OH
When: Friday, 8/29/2008. Gates open at 5:00, racing starts at 5:30.
Cost: Racing - $25, Spectators - $10
Website: http://www.quakercityraceway.com/

We'll have a crew leaving from Target in Morgantown on Friday afternoon. Exact time will be determined soon but it will probably be about 3PM sharp to get there when the gates open at 5PM. It's about 130 miles or so from Star City. Be sure to have a few bucks cash for tolls on the turnpike (no more than $3 I think).

Its a longer drive than PRP...
so maybe we could have an early group leave at 3... and another group leave around 5, after people get off work?

QuickSilverZ06

It's the same distance as MD, not PRP. Takes two hours to get there. If it rains out PRP on Wednesday then the make up will be Friday. We could then do that instead since it will save some time. I know at least Nuked and I talked about that yesterday. Otherwise, there is no event Friday at PRP.

fixed....

oh, ok... well either way... We could still have early and later groups go...

Nuked

We will just have to play it by ear as far as PRP goes. If they run wed, then there is no event on Friday at PRP.

As for the leave time, yeah not alot we can do about that. Unfortunately both Mason-Dixon and Quaker City are two hours away. The dual "caravans" may be an option?

Looks like we'll be going to PRP Friday instead of Quaker City.

I thought you were copying and pasting that from QC's website...I was like...uh...huh? Haha I get it now though, I've been waiting to hear whether or not we can make it PRP instead cuz (obviously) it's rained out today, that would work out a lot better.

I hear ya. Out of the three tracks, the only one I think even has a chance is MD since it's furthest east.

Another week will probably mean cooler air anyway.

Soooo... is this a no go?

I just checked the radar and it looks like there's a batch of rain moving through the southern part of the state but otherwise fairly clear.

I just got some parts on the car last night.. I'm pumped and ready to go!

Well, the chance of rain dropped from 60% to 30% overnight... so at least we have that much good news.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/local/USPA1142?lswe=new%20alexandria,%20pa&from=searchbox

At least PRP acknowledges the make-up date now. Gates at 5:30, racing at 6:30. $25 to race an $7 to watch.

I will be leaving Clarksburg around 4:30 if we don't get rained out. That should put me at the track right at 6:30. Hopefully we don't get rained out. I've got my interior pretty much gutted right now. lol

FYI everyone. I will have a jack, tools, and an extra medium helmet (DOT, not Snell).
The tools and jack will be chained to something, so you'll need to come find me.

Ok... so here are the 2 runs I actually got in before my car decided to spaz out!

http://www.wvmotorsports.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=154&pictureid=1241

1st run was its initiation to the track.... wasn't happy with how it was running....
Nuked drove it both times and I rode with him, so we could figure out the best way to get it off the line... 2nd run we just sat there till it build boost.... notice my time was BETTER the 2nd run, even though the MPH fell way off cause of whatever happened...

2nd run was a better start.... then 50 ft from the end it started spazzing! Got on the return lane and it was running like the Evo does when it blows a pipe... REALLY jerky! and it was smoking cause she got HOT... so we pulled off behind the bike pits, popped the hood.... and the overflow container for the coolant was halfway full and boiling!

We drove it home... -1 cylander... dunno yet what happened or what needs fixed. Could be as simple as we filed the plugs, or as bad as blew a head gasket and lifted the heads.... all I know right now is I have a dead cylander.... oil looked ok.... didn't have the right tools with us to pull the injectors.... so we will see...

So as far as the times... NOT happy... I would like to see what the result of the 2nd run would have been if the darn thing hadn't crapped out! Back to her being a project car! BUT we didn't come across any more major oil leaks...

LOL! Thanks....
Yeah... we stopped and talked to Kisner last night... we will get it fixed no matter what! hehe! Like I said... it may be something very simple! I just wish it could have gotten a clean 2nd run in to see what it would have done!!! If its something bigger... it probably needed done anyway! :good:

I had a new best time in the RSX tonight. Went 13.61 @ 108mph. Based on the two semi stock RSX's that ran, you can see how much I've actually gained in this car. 15.4-15.5's @ 90-91mph VS 13.6 @ 108mph.
